Today is my birthday! I turned 42 years young. I must say, this has been the best birthday ever! The festivities started last night with taking me out to eat at the NY Hibachi Buffet. A great place for our family as the kids have an assortment of choices and I can eat lots of veggies!

Before my man had to leave for soccer this morning, he surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and an absolutely gorgeous crystal bracelet to match the earrings and necklace he gave me last year.

When we got home from church the festivities started.

My kids drew me a bubble bath. Oh it wasn’t just a bubble bath. It included relaxing music, stress free bubble bath, a glass of ice water in one of our “fancy” cups, a plate of veggies and a plate of fruit. Forty-five minutes of uninterrupted time. The bathtub was surrounded with special gifts from my children. Homemade cards, pictures, coupon books. Special jewelry made by one of my daughters.

Upon completing my bath, I was then given a foot massage by Gianna and Zach. Hannah made me vegan chocolate chip cookies. And still the house is quiet and I am so relaxed!

Now they are cleaning the kitchen and tiding up the house.

I must say…I am truly blessed. Reading my sweet notes from my children makes me realize why I love being a mom so much! I know they are still downstairs doing more “secret” planning. I love my family so much!

Today I feel the honor of being a Proverbs 31 woman. I am far from perfect and still have much to learn, but I am seeing the blessings of pursuing this godly woman!

Her children rise up and bless her; Her husband also, and he praises her, saying: “Many daughters have done nobly, But you excel them all.” (Proverbs 31:28, 29 NASB)

I am blessed with this amazing family that God has so carefully knit together! Each child in my home adds their own unique qualities to the family. We have some rough days, but they are far out weighed by the good ones.

I am looking forward to this 42nd year in my life. I love being the daughter to the King. I have seen God open many doors and I have also seen him close doors. I will continue to fix my eyes on Jesus, as God continues to be the author and perfecter of my faith!
