John just celebrated his 8th birthday! This is our second birthday that we have gotten to celebrate with our John Boy. He has grown so much this past year and climbed over some big mountains. This child is the sunshine of my day. His smile radiates. It is contagious. He is a mama’s boy at times…giving me hugs and kisses randomly. But he is really a daddy’s boy.

They have a sweet father/son relationship. John loves to work on projects with his daddy. They especially love to work on their remote control cars…building…rebuilding…adding new gadgets.

This was a big birthday for John as over the past year he has made some really good friends. Of course every birthday in our house is an instant party! But this was special because he got to invite his best friends!

Birthday mornings always start out with a special birthday breakfast. In our house the kids usually pick funnel cakes!

And of course I had to make him a cake using his favorite candy bar…Kit Kats!

He was most pleased!

And of course we have to have fun with the extras!

And birthday dinners are a huge choice. This year John chose hot wings, nachos and lots of fixings.

But before he gets to chow down, he receives the birthday blessing from dad.

And then there are the presents!

Waiting in anticipation by dad’s truck…that is how he wraps his presents.

I think he is a pretty happy camper!
